DOES NOT AGITATE

WILL NOT TUMBLE OR TURN ON

When your dryer won’t turn on, you first will want to be sure the dryer is plugged in and that all of the circuit breakers are on. If the machine is plugged in and still doesn’t start or tumble, the high-limit thermostat, heating element or cycling thermostat will likely have to be repaired or replaced.

WON’T SHUT OFF

The opposite issue is if the dryer will not turn off. The cause of this problem is either a broken timer or door switch.

TIMER DOESN’T ADVANCE

A dryer timer has to advance in order to complete the drying cycle. If the timer will not advance, it might mean there is a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
